An Adaptive Machine Learning System for Computer Supported Conceptual Engineering Design

Recent research has shown that the highest return of investments made during various stages of product development is recorded during the design stage (Fig. 1) [1]. With a view to survival, a number of manufacturing companies are, as a result, now reviewing their design practices, and in particular, since it is recognised as the most critical and determinant factor in product competitiveness, the conceptual engineering design phase [2,3,4].
