Generating Electricity at 60% Electrical Efficiency from 1 - 2 kWe SOFC Products

Ceramic Fuel Cells Limited (CFCL) has developed Gennex and BlueGen products that are highly efficient SOFC products for the micro-CHP and electrical generator markets operating on natural gas and producing electricity to the grid at 1 - 2 kWe. An electrical efficiency (LHV) of 60% is being achieved by the system for net AC electricity exported to the grid. An additional 25% of power is available as heat. This paper describes how this electrical efficiency is achieved in CFCL's product.
