Ed-RCS: An Energy-Aware Event-Driven Regional Clustering Scheme for WSNs

Data redundancy is occurs for two reasons: one is sensor coverage duplication and the other one is sensor event. We propose a novel clustering method that considers node sensor coverage and event. Also our method introduces a repeater that helps to hop by hop transmission in order to cope with energy-holes and link-failure problems. This method prevents data loss caused by node link disconnections, thus it collects the data reliably. According to the performance analysis results, our method decreases energy consumption and increases transmission efficiency.
