Info Trac: An Evaluation of System Use and Potential in Research Libraries.

The value of InfoTrac as a reference source has been de bated since the laser disc system was introduced two years ago. This paper provides an overview of that debate and presents the results of six user studies conducted at Louisi ana State University Libraries during a one-year period. The impact of the InfoTrac Government Publications Index on LSU documents use is also explored. Finally, the role of InfoTrac and other similar systems in research libraries is considered.
