The Analysis of Undercut Gear Model Based on Matlab

Based on the principle of gear wheel generation, it shows the cause of undercut produces and affection to the gear run, deduces the gear profile and gear transition curve equation at cutting process, sets up the formula for seeking the undercut circle and undercut amounts. Then it uses the MATLAB software to carry out undercut amounts precisely with the different tooth number and modulus, simulates lower undercut environment in Pro/Engineer, analyzes the tooth number and the impact of modulus over undercut amounts. Results present that the undercut on certain degree to the gear is not harmful, only effects to the intensity of a gear. The certain undercut is allowable.
