Integrated natural resource management

This paper provides a general review of experience with Integrated Rural Development Programs (IRDPs). The purpose of the review is to extract lessons which can be applied to Integrated Natural Resource Management Programs (INRMPs), Integrated Conservation Programs, and current and future IRDPs without repeating past mistakes. These lessons will help planners and implementors of future INRM programs to improve their planning and management skills. Practical aspects of program design and implementation are emphasized, as well as the full involvement of all participants at all stages of program development and implementation.
