This article looks critically at the education system in Sierra Leone with a view of ensuring suitable use of MOODLE which fosters virtual learning for the benefit of ensuring students' continuous engagement in activities to increase their learning prospects and competitive edge in the 21st century Information Age. Sierra Leone, amidst its economic challenges (legacy of a brutal civil crisis), is continuing to be bartered by difficult unforeseen situations (such as the recent Ebola outbreak) permeating into the fabrics of the education system. The architectural topology of MOODLE platform is addressed, in addition to challenges faced by users, particularly so in the context of Sierra Leone, where access to internet is a problem, but more advantageously, the open access nature of the platform meant that consideration for its usage can be viewed as a viable possibility to move the country into the 21st century generation of internet accessibility.
