ON THE BIONOMICS AND STRUCTURE OF SOME DIPTEROUS LARVAE INFESTING CEREALS AND GRASSES

Summary In the field the chief larval host plants of Geomyza tripunctata Fall. are Lolium perenne and L. italicum; in the laboratory other grasses and wheat are readily attacked. The damage is similar to that caused by Oscinella frit L.; the larva feeds inside the grasses and kills the central shoot.
