Collocated Compact UHF and L-Band Antenna for Nanosatellite ARGOS Program

This paper presents a miniature dual-feed UHF and L-band antenna designed for the Argos Neo data collection program. Intended to be integrated into the 12U ANGELS nano-satellite, its footprint and volume have been miniaturize d to use a volume lower than 2U while providing optimal performances at 400 MHz and 1.7 GHz. Key design elements are presented, as well as simulated performances using CST Microwave Studio and measured performances in the CNES Compact Antenna Test Range.
