CPE Removal Method Based on CSI-Pilot in DVB-T/H Demodulator

In this paper, a common phase error (CPE) removal method using CSI-pilot is proposed for DVB-T/H receiver. The channel state information (CSI) is addressed in the CPE removal. Here "CSI-pilot" is defined as the pilots containing information of channel response and local pilots. CSI-pilots are generated by CSI and local pilots in CPE removal module. CPE removal can eliminate the common phase errors based on CSI-pilots. This CSI-pilots-based method is proved to be more accurate than the conventional auto-correlation, cross-correlation and two-step methods. Furthermore, the simple cross-correlation structure can be implemented in the CSI-pilot-based method. The theoretical analysis and the simulations can show the performance of the proposed method, and the hardware cost comparisons can show its low complexity.
