A Novel Wavelength Reservation Protocol for Wavelength-routed Optical Networks

A novel backward reservation protocol with intermediate retry is proposed for wavelength-continuous lightpaths establishment in wavelength-routed optical networks. The results reveal it improves the success rate in lightpaths setup considerably without much incrementing the setup delay.
