High quality 3 D skeleton system modeling of Virtual Chinese Human male No.1

Objective: To establish three-dimensional modeling of human skeleton system for the applications of anatomy teaching, physiological simulation, etc. Methods: The datasets of Virtual Chinese Human (Male No.1) with high resolution of twenty million pixels were employed. The skeleton tissue was segmented and classified interactively. Large scale segmented data was constructed using parallelism algorithm on high performance computing clusters. Results: A high quality 3-D modeling of skeleton system was established, which can be further divided into sub-models, achieving single-or-multi display pattern for a certain bone. Conclusions: Based on the high resolution slice images of VCH and subtly segmentation, high quality 3-D human skeleton system is constructed.
