A DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEM FOR BUILDING REFURBISHMENT DESIGN

Refurbishment design is a form of design where the existing situation plays a dominant role in the design process. Making use of typical existing situations and preferred refurbishment solutions, the refurbishment design process can be supported by Case Based Reasoning (CBR). The EC funded project described in this paper develops a methodology and decision support system for housing refurbishment using CBR technology. The system is designed and implemented for distributed usage through Internet.
