Optimization for Robust Energy Storage Allocation in Power System With Multiple Wind Farms Integrated

The capacity limits of transmission network and flexible units were considered as bottlenecks to accommodate wind power in power system. To solve the problem of insufficient flexibility, this paper proposed a novel optimization model to obtain the minimum power capacity and appropriate distribution of energy storage. A linear relationship was introduced to demonstrate the accommodative distribution for wind power variation and then to maximally utilize flexible units and minimize the requirement of energy storage. The mean value and interval bound were used to describe wind power variation uncertainty and the conversion into certainty was realized according to the robust linear optimization. Thus, the feasible solution which is immunized against uncertainty is solved without depending on the probability distribution of wind power. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed model.
