The paper analyzes a 242 foot, 2 lane, 4 span, composite girder jointless highway bridge supported by flexible substructure for 50-year summer and winter weather extremes characteristic of Fairbanks, Alaska. Based on these exposures, the effects of dissimilar materials were examined using finite element techniques for support conditions of friction free bearings and flexible bents.
