Simulation of PI and PID Algorithms in Active Queue Management

Active queue management(AQM)is a very active area in networking.On the basis of Hollot's linearized TCP model,this paper simulates the typical algorithms of PI and PID based on Network Simulator.This paper introduces the architecture of Network Simulator and how to simulate a new algorithm.Our experiments set different conditions,generate exogeneous traffics to simulate the realistic scenarios and compare PI and PID algorithms' performances in Active Queue Management.Verified by using NS-2 simulations,PID can be faster than PI,but PI's robustness is better than PID.
