Physical considerations in the development of a computer learning environment

Introduction At Otago Polytechnic a class of chemistry students engaged in a year long CAL programme spent three months in each of three physically different computer environments. In particular, they were able to provide data relating to the design and layout of a computer environment, and identify physical features of the particular environments that both hindered and assisted their learning.
