Gap technology offers complete disconnection of two networks, while data and information is allowed to be transferred securely between the two. The paper introduces the principle of GAP technology and scheme adopted and then presents the architecture design of gigabit Ethernet GAP. Design method of isolation device is introduced emphatically. A new approach is presented based on simulation analysis to satisfy all requirements of its PCB signal integrity. Based on two pre-route simulation analysis of important clock signal net, clock chip and receiver chip topology is adjusted and the robustness of whole system is guaranteed. Both system accuracy and stability are improved. The performance makes it a valuable candidate for the control of new generation network security modules.
