Design of 2.4-GHz miniaturized antenna for Wi-Fi application based on meandered technique

A 2.4-GHz Miniaturized Antenna is designed and simulated by CST simulator. First, this article describes the PIFA antenna. The radiating part of the PIFA antenna is a rectangular plane. And the meandered line is formed by opening slots on a rectangular patch. The size of the antenna becomes smaller with meandered techniques. Then, the CST simulation software is used to design and simulate the antenna. And the method of antenna simulation based on parametric sweep is used to optimize the miniaturized antenna. The influence of the distance between the feeder line and the shorting line on the antenna performance is shown in this method. And we know that it do not affect the bandwidth and the efficiency of the antenna. The miniaturized antenna is finally designed working in Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11 b/g/n) band with good performance. The advantage of this antenna is its small size, high efficiency and very small return loss. Its efficiency reaches 42.47% and its low return loss is just −37.7 dB.
