Intelligent shopping cart with quick payment based on dynamic target tracking

At present, many supermarkets are still using the traditional shopping cart and bar code scanning. This shopping mode will make clients feel tired to push cart forward and waste much time on waiting in line. This paper presents the design and implementation of a new application - an intelligent shopping cart. This cart can accurately follow its master by identifying the color and shape characteristics of the specific image that the master wears. Also, it implements quick payment to provide a more comfortable shopping mode. In this paper, we firstly design an architecture of the intelligent shopping cart system. Secondly, we propose an approach to implement movement control. We improve an algorithm to realize the dynamic target tracking more accurately and present improved control systems to improve the stability of the shopping cart system. Thirdly, we present RFID based automatic payment. Finally, we implement the proposed novel system. The experimental results indicate that the proposed intelligent cart system provides dynamic target tracking with higher accuracy and significantly speeds up the payment process.
