Alcohol involvement in pedestrian accidents in france

This paper describes a study carried out in France which examined the role of alcohol in pedestrian accidents. The data were obtained from police reports between March 1990 and February 1991 and covered pedestrians over 16. Aspects examined include age, sex, time of accident, occupation, location of accident and blood alcohol content. Alcohol was found to be an important factor in pedestrian accidents. Comparisons made with other countries found a similar situation. For the covering abstract see IRRD 893732.
