A unified method for fast modelling of DC-DC switching converters

Abstract A unified method for fast modelling of DC-DC switching converters in the continuous conduction mode and discontinuous conduction mode is proposed. The validity, conditions of modelling theory and a new model for Cuk circuit as well as other DC-DC switching converters are given. This method validates not only for DC-DC switching converters in the continuous conduction mode (CCM), but also for that in the discontinuous conduction mode (DCM). Therefore, the problem of modelling the DC-DC switching converters is equivalent to converting the problem of variable structure system (VSS) analysis into that of circuit analysis containing compound dependence sources. The proposed method is more convenient and better than that based on the state space average method.
