Design and Experiment Analysis of Intelligent Controller for MR Dampers

Magnetorheological damper( MRD) is a kind of intelligent vibration mitigation device,whose damping forces can be controlled by adjusting control currents of the MRD's coils. This paper developed an intelligent controller of MRD,integrating the information collection system and the control system. The intelligent controller can collect the real-time acceleration responses of the system and produce the real-time control currents of MRD based on pulse width modulation( PWM). The experimental analysis shows that the intelligent controller of MRD can accurately collect the real-time acceleration responses of the system,and decide the reasonable control currents of MRD by using the acceleration responses.
