Performance Analysis and Evaluation of Wireless-fiedlbu s Rfieldbus

RFieldbus is a modified kind of PROFIBUS fieldbus system featuring th e extended wireless physical layer and the IP transmission capability. This pape r describes the results of a number of tests which were made to assess the RFiel dbus behavior. PROFIBUS-DP cyclic data exchange time, TCP/IP traffic throughput as well as error performance of the transmission mechanisms were evaluated in di fferent scenarios. The results shows that in the industrial environment RFieldbu s system can fully meet the real-time requirement even companied with the TCP/IP traffic.
