In Chapter 1 Pyzdek covers general knowledge topics, which includes a very nice history of attitudes towards quality. Chapter 2 discusses many of the concepts usually included in total quality management texts, such as supplier management, training, and the seven quality tools. A variety of statistical topics are included in Chapter 3. The topics include basic statistics, regression, time series, experimental design, and acceptance sampling. Chapter 4 is titled "Product, Process and Material Control." This chapter addresses issues such as work instructions with some nice small examples, material review boards, and statistical process control. Chapter 5 is dedicated to measurement system analysis. Chapter 6 is focused on safety and reliability. Chapter Seven describes the important issue of data collection and analysis. The final chapter concludes with a discussion of maintainability and availability. Pyzdek also provides a nice set of appendices that includes terminology and statistical table references.
