A dual-mode operation and smooth transition control of sensorless high-speed permanent magnet synchronous motor

The dual-mode operation and smooth transition control of the high-speed permanent magnet synchronous motor (HS-PMSM) is proposed based on the sinusoidal-wave and square-wave driving modes. Based on the equivalent hardware configuration of the HS-PMSM drive, typical space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) strategy is introduced for the sinusoidal-wave drive (SINWD). The adaptive neural network (ANN) inverse system method and the two degrees of freedom internal model controller (2-DOF IMC) are combined as the speed loop controller of the square-wave drive (SQUWD). To achieve the smooth transition, the switch signals for the transition point are studied. The effectiveness of the proposed control scheme is validated by the simulation results.
