Analysis of Carbon Emission for Energy Consumption in China's Textiles and Clothing Sectors

Textiles and clothing sectors are important industry in China.A large quantity of energy has been consumed with the result of high carbon emissions during the fast development of China's textiles and clothing sectors. It is meaningful for the achieving of energy saving, carbon decrease and issuing of low carbon development pattern in China's textiles and clothing sectors through the analysis of effect factors of carbon emissions caused by energy consumption. The decomposition model of carbon emissions of China's textile and apparel industry was built with LMDI method, and the influencing factors including industry scale, industry structure, energy structure and energy intensity were analyzed with the model. Results showed that enlarge of industry scale was the main pull factor for the increase of carbon emissions of China's textile and apparel industry during 1991-2009,and improvement of energy intensity was meaningful for the decreasing of carbon emissions.Optimizing of industry structure has limited impact on carbon emissions decreasing at present and the adjusting of energy structure has not achieved the decreasing impact.
