SPECTRAMAP User Introduction to Spectramap

Publisher Summary The chapter presents a user introduction to spectramap. Spectramap is a program for multivariate analysis of tabulated data which includes a number of basic procedures among which are principal components analysis (PCA), correspondence factor analysis (CFA), and spectral map analysis (SMA). The program has been designed for DOS-oriented PC and requires a graphics monitor. The tutorial version of Spectramap is limited to tables with a maximum of 20 rows and 6 columns. The program maintains three types of files that are distinguished by a suffix that is automatically attached to the name of the files: data files (.DAT), procedure files (.PRC), and (graphic) plot files (.PLT). Loading the program from the subdirectory is via the command SPM. The generic panel of the program appears on the screen and a carriage return (CR) displays the menu of the seven main modules. The chapter presents a discussion on the use of the various panels and subpanels in the analysis module. The chapter discusses the ways of stepping through the analysis module. SIRIUS is a comprehensive general-purpose program for analysis and display of multivariate data.
