Animal Models of Human Behavior

Animal models should be viewed only as generating hypotheses about human behavior, because there are differences between animal and human behavior as well as similarities. There are two ways that gene-based behavioral variants of animals can be used for this: the first way is in identifying and mapping genes with effects on human behavior; and the second is in developing hypotheses about the biological causes of human behavior. Keywords: animal models; alcohol and alcoholism; learning and memory; gene homology; gene mapping; gene effects
