A Two-Stage Direct Blind Symbol Recovery Method for Zero Padding OFDM System

A novel totally blind direct symbol recovery method is developed for zero padding (ZP) OFDM. Unlike existing methods, most of which are based on subspace approach, and are not capable of tracking channel with rapid variations, the proposed two-stage method which enables direct blind symbol recovery is based on symbol-by-symbol approach and, thus, its performance will not degrade in rapid channel variation case. Simulation results show that the proposed method exhibits excellent BER performance
