Automatic optical PMD compensator for 40-Gb/s DBPSK and DQPSK with fast changing SOP and PSP

We demonstrate a fast-speed PMDC for 40 Gb/s DBPSK and DQPSK. The PMDC increases tolerable average PMD of the DBPSK and DQPSK system to 9 ps and 18 ps, respectively.
