It was originally known as the Sloan Online Survey, in recognition of our founding sponsor, the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. The Foundation saw the need for the first of these reports and continued that commitment, supporting this independent study, offering full privacy for all respondents as well as free distribution of all report publications.
