Avaliação de métodos de forçamento de brotação de borbulhas em citros

Evaluation of bud-forcing methods in citrus The aim of this work was to evaluate the effect of five bud-forcing methods on budding efficiency, economic efficiency and scion development of citrus in nursery. The experiment was arranged in complete randomized design with five bud-forcing methods (bending, looping, cutting off rootstock stem, notching and notching with defoliation of the rootstook), four replications, and twenty plants per plot. Variety ‘Natal’ (Citrus sinensis (L.) Osbeck) was budded on rangpur lime (C. limonia Osbeck). The following parameters were evaluated: bud sprout index, height stem, diameter and necessary time for the execution of each method. Notching with defoliation of the rootstock was the only treatment inefficient for development of plants. The necessary time for execution of each method followed the following increasing order: cutting off rootstock stem, looping, notching and bending.
