Sidehaul link management scheme for mobile contents caching environments in moving small-cell networks

To accommodate rapidly growing data traffic, the moving small-cell (mSC) access point (AP) equipped for contents caching storage has been considered for mobile communication network. In mSC network, the contents can be directly transmitted from mSC without use of mobile networks. Therefore, mSC networks can alleviate loads of macro-cell base station (MBS) and can improve overall networks throughput. For effectively utilizing the cached contents in mSC, sidehaul link between mSCs should be effectively managed. In this paper, we propose the sidehaul link management scheme considering location of desired contents under MBS's control. By system level simulation, we show that the proposed scheme can improve the overall throughput of mSC networks.
