Accurate and nimble forecast of the HV source dynamics

A procedure for obtaining the exact linear model of high voltage (HV) DC generators is described. An HV power supply for ionic motors is considered. The irregular dynamic behavior of these motors implies a robust control. A heterogeneous set of CAD tools and an original model of the Cockcroft-Walton multiplier cell helped the optimization of a 60 W, 5 kV DC-DC converter whose experimental characterization fits well the forecasts of its dynamic behavior.
