Simplified Analogical Control of a Unified Power Quality Conditioner

This paper deals with a unified power quality conditioner (UPQC) consisting of a series and parallel active power filtering. An analogical method of perturbation detection for current and voltage parts is presented. Also to be totally analogous, the regulators used for different parts of the system, are also designed with analogue PID controllers. Simulation results are shown and discussed to verify the performance and dynamical behaviour of the UPQC in different conditions such as voltage sags, harmonics and load variation
