Overview of solar desalination

Abstract This paper presents an overview of solar powered desalination plants based on nearly 50 scientific papers and technical reports. Systems such as solar stills, solar pond water desalination, multieffect solar desalination and PV cells application plants are considered. These systems covered experience in theoretical modelling, research and development and field tested plants.
