This paper presents the vibration analysis of an mechanism for a Guided Weapon Launching System (GWLS). The elevation mechanism of GWLS experiences severe transient vibrations during its operation because of change of vertical load according to its elevation angle. For the vibration analysis in this paper, the elevation mechanism of the GWLS was mathematically modeled as a 2-D.O.F. lumped mass-spring-damper model which were derived by using Newton' 2nd law. Natural frequencies and modes of the system were analyzed theoretically. The transient vibrations of the system due to various elevation speed input curves of the mechanism were analyzed. Furthermore harmonic vibrations of the elevation mechanism were also computed due to the seismic displacement input to the slide of the mechanism.
