Overview of the Development of Material Processing Technology from Previous International Conferences on Technology of Plasticity

International Conference on Technology of Plasticity is considered as the Olympics in the material processing field.It has been held 9 times.The conferences collectively and immediately show the technological progress of material plastic processing.Several developments of material plastic processing revealed by the recent conferences are introduced in this paper.Those developments include:the thickness of casting-rolling steel strip produced by CSP-process(Continuous Strip Production)reaches 1~3 mm,which markedly decreases the deformation and energy consumption of rolling;the newly developed high strength steel is characterized by the combination of over 1 000 MPa strength and 60% elongation;tube hydroforming process is applied in automotive component manufacturing;parts made of mild steel or alloy steel can be precisely formed by warm forging;the strength of sheets is increased by three times through hot stamping process;multi-point sandwich forming is a new discrete die forming technology,making it possible to manufacture parts of different shapes with similar dimensions by using one die set;closed shell dieless hydro-bulging is a process characterized with high flexibility,energy saving and less-loading;the dimension and microstructure of forming and processing can be determined by multi-scale and multi-physic numerical simulation.
