Forced vibration analysis of the clamped orthotropic rectangular plate by the superposition method

Abstract In this paper the superposition method is introduced to obtain the solution for the forced vibration of clamped orthotropic rectangular plates subjected to a concentrated harmonic force. The method is found to work extremely well, and fewer terms in the series are used to provide an equivalent accuracy of solution as compared with earlier published reports. The distributed bending moments along plate edges and the deflections at the plate center are tabulated and plotted for a wide range of plate geometries and orthotropies.
