Air conditioning apparatus having a heater with a hot water flow valve and a bypass passage with a door

A vehicle air conditioning apparatus (10) has a hot water valve (16) for adjusting the rate of hot water flow into heating heat exchanger (13). Air passes through inlet (11a) and evaporator (12). A bypass passage (30) with a bypass door (31) to open and close the passage (30) enables air either to bypass or pass through the heater (13). The hot water valve (14) and bypass door (31) may be controlled by temperature adjust operation member (29). The temperature in the passenger compartment is controlled by either adjusting the hot water valve (14) or the bypass door (31), or a combination of the two. Conditioned air leaves the apparatus through foot (35), face (34) and defroster (33) opening portions, whose openings are controlled by rotary door (37). The rotary door (37) may be adjusted to open the face (34) or foot (35) opening, or both of these openings dependent on the desired set temperature.
