A miniaturized UWB antenna for worldwide wireless USB

In this paper, a miniaturized planar Ultra Wideband (UWB) antenna is presented. The proposed antenna is designed to be compliant with the new emerging worldwide UWB spectrum; this means it fits UWB regulations worldwide from the United States to Europe and Asia. An antenna system consisting of two identical proposed antennas is built. Time domain properties of the system are analyzed. The miniaturized prototype of the proposed antenna makes it easy to be mounted on the PCB of Wireless Universal Serial Bus (WUSB) dongle. A good agreement between the simulation results and the experimental results is achieved.
