Method and apparatus for detection and evaluation of road reflections

The invention relates to a method for the detection and evaluation of reflections on a roadway (7). There is provided a camera (2) by means of which at least two digital images are formed at least one carriageway point (3), wherein the generating of images from different recording perspectives (A, B) is carried out of the camera (2). It is followed by a detecting of diffuse reflection and specular reflection of the roadway (7) by evaluating differences between the appearances of the at least one roadway point (3) in the at least two digital images using algorithms of digital image processing. More preferably, the evaluating road surface reflections by means of an approximate approach is performed depending on the detected reflection of roadway status information is determined, in particular a road condition information which provides information about whether the roadway (7) is dry, wet, snowy or icy. Furthermore, the invention relates to a device (1) for carrying out the above method and a vehicle comprising such a device (1).
