Design of Synchronization Controller for Power-Based Distributed Generation

In isolated mode, there will be a difference of voltage amplitude, frequency and phase between both sides of the connection point when power-based distributed generation is connected to micro-grid. This will cause a great impact on whole system stability and the micro-grid system can be paralyzed even worse. In order to solve this problem this paper presents the design of synchronization controller which is capable of controlling the voltage on both sides. By the controller the power quality can satisfy the qualifications of IEEE 1547 and the impact from distributed generation to the system can be reduced. The effectiveness of synchronization controller designed is verified by simulations.
