Comparative Study of the Abrasion Resistance of Automobile Seat Covers

This work presents an experimental design for the evaluation of different types of behaviour of automobile seat cover fabrics after 10,000 rubs of abrasion. The fabrics used in this research were supplied from four different manufacturers which produce covers for many multinational car companies. The motivation behind this work is the demand from vehicle manufacturers for a high standard of abrasion resistance. The data collected are evaluated statistically using variance analyses and Fisher’s multiple comparison test.
