Robust H∞ control for a class of networked uncertain systems with multiple channels subject to Markovian switching

In this paper, an H∞ control problem for a class of network-based uncertain systems is studied. A control framework is presented to optimally exploit multiple communication channels (MCCs) with switching characteristics. System signals are exchanged via the MCCs and network-induced time-varying communication delays occur in each of the communication channels with different characteristics. The channel switching phenomenon is modeled as a continuous-time Markov process and a Markov jump linear system (MJLS) is exploited to model the overall networked system. An H∞ controller is designed such that the closed-loop MJLS is mean square exponentially stable and the disturbance attenuation level is bounded by an H∞ bound. A numerical example is presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller design and the advantages of exploiting MCCs.
