Performance evaluation of networked control systems based on the gramian controllability

In this paper, a characterization of the discrete controllability gramian as a performance control index for networked control systems is presented. The contribution of the paper consists in an index definition to measure the effects of induced delays and faults in networked closed-loop systems. The index can be employed in order to help in the analysis and design stages of networked control systems. A simulation example is considered to illustrate the developed index.
