Researchings in Monte carlo techniques used for the identification of cloud and target with pulse stretching characteristic are presented.In order to increase calculation efficiency,we employ semianalytic Monte carlo techniques with received properties model to calculate pulse stretching signal.Based on a δ shaped input pulse,we simulate the recieced signal for the input pulse of 1ns,100ns and 1 μs,The simulation results indicates that the pulse stretching of cumulus cloud is larger than that of the ground target for the 1ns and 100ns input pulse,so it is easy to identify them,While for the 1μs input pulse,the pulse stretching of them is comparable,so it is hard to identify,tham.Furthermore the pulse stretching of the cumulonimbus and the stratus is narrower compared with the cumulus.The results is useful and guideful for choosing the input pulse width amd the detector parameter.
