D-2-2 An Analysis and Verification of Moisture Transportation within Paper in the Fusing Process of Electrophotography

Paper curl is one of paper handling problems of printers and copiers. In the fusing process of electorophotography, the curl is generated by the temperature difference of paper surfaces. The temperature difference causes the moisture transport from the high-temperature side to the low-temperature side, and then the moisture content incline of the paper thickness direction causes the shrinkage difference that generates the curl. In the previous study, we proposed an analysis of the moisture transport in paper to predict the curl amount. This report shows the experimental method that measures the moisture distribution in paper by the electric resistance. And the experimental result indicates the validity of the analysis that calculates moisture distribution in paper.
