Fault Detection and Classification Using Wavelet Transform and Neuro Fuzzy System

It is imperative to detect the fault disturbances as soon as possible to improve the performance of micro grid. Taking the above issue into consideration a novel technique for the detection and classification of different types of faults has been introduced in the study of this paper with a micro grid consisting of Wind Turbine (WT) and diesel generator. Wavelet transforms (WT) and Wavelet Packet Transform (WPT) is used for detection. Further, for accurate classification of various faults all fault disturbances Neuro-fuzzy (NF) is implemented by taking the input feature information. One practically applicable 3-bus system incorporated with various types of distribution generations are considered for the protection analysis purpose and is simulated using MA TLAB/SIMULINK environment. The classification of fault is done using Neuro Fuzzy. The comparison results are presented which demonstrates the enhanced performance of N euroFuzzy(NF).
